My Quarantine Food Diary: Volume 3

The final installment of my quarantine food diary-volume 3. We’re well past 150 days adjusting to the life post-pandemic. It’s not actually “post-pandemic” because we’re still very much in the thick of it. I was less interested in cooking (though I still did tons of that) and trying new recipes and more excited about trying new restaurants.

In the first 80 days that all this was taking place I hadn’t eaten out. I have since ventured out and tried new places–all of which did not make this blogpost as some really weren’t worth mentioning. I did notice that the “fast” foods I did enjoy indulging in didn’t taste as good to me for whatever reason. My favorite from the batch above? The “Ham #1” sandwich from The Food Company. It’s a ham sammich on farm bread with blackberry compote, sharp white cheddar, red onion, and mixed greens. The bread was toasted and it was honestly the best sweet and savory combination.

Honorable mention of the bunch above would have to be Arrington Vineyard in Arrington, TN. It is open 7 days a week and it is the perfect spot to do picnics in an already socially distanced fashion. You can (and should) bring in your own food, scope out an area of grass or picnic table, and then buy a bottle of wine or Froze. This was not so much about food as it was the experience, but still had to include.

This quarantine food diary was not as encompassing as volume 2 (read here) because it just didn’t (still doesn’t) feel important to document. And with so much turmoil happening in this country, taking pictures of my food seemed silly. I still enjoy it.
