{I’m playing y’all…and, I’m playing myself.}
{I should be over in the emotions section this week, but I need this brief moment away from reality. Stay tuned…}
Aja (featured in the pics) is a good friend of mine.
She’s also one of the few souls I was/am able to disclose my true passion for thrifting and wanting to turn it into something more.
Aja understood, welcomed, and cheered my vision on and continues to do so.
I enjoy thrifting for myself and find so many great things on most trips, but I just don’t need that much shit in my closet.
*light bulb* SHOP FOR SOMEONE ELSE!
Shop for someone who likes to keep a fresh and vibrant wardrobe, but is also budget conscious. Shop for someone who wants to be on trend, but also remain unique.

Aja, at the time, was starting an internship for a renowned event planning company. She wanted to dress in a way that reflected her personality, but in a professional manner.
I asked if I could pull together a couple of looks for her. True her fashion she obliged with immense excitement.
She gave me her sizes, material preferences, and color palette.
I would snap pics of what I was finding and text them to her to see if I was hittin’ or missin’.
At the end of it, I packaged it up and presented it to her as if she’d made an online purchase.
In exchange, she had these photos taken of her in the two outfits during her internship. The criteria being that they be taken in a way that I like my photos–candid, organic, and in front of a cool wall. She nailed it!
Outfit 1: Blouse, $3.99 and Ankle Trousers, $3.99
Outfit 2: Earrings, $2.99, Blouse, $3.99, Denim Trousers, $6.99
I’m no stylist, but I do have a creative eye for putting things together, furniture included. I can visualize how things may go together even if by themselves there isn’t much to be admired.
