January 1, 2018

1/1/18.

A new year, just that fast.

I’m not really one for resolutions. I’m more of a “continuation of the same goals” kinda girl. There were several things in 2017 that I accomplished and would like to carry forward into this year. I basically want to do what I’ve already done, but I want to do it better, more efficiently, and more confidently. Without giving away specifics (because no one needs to know what you’re working on all the time…because haters), my goals for 2018 are laid out simply and in general terms.

Keep it simple.

In every aspect. We’ve all grown accustomed to having too much choice and too many options. Let’s take out the fluff and only keep around what is truly important or brings us joy.

Follow my heart more than my head.

I tend to complicate things and overthink. I could sit on important decision-making for weeks if allowed. I don’t want to waste that time this year.

Travel to (5) new places.

There’s too much of the world to see that I haven’t seen, damnit.

Build (2) new lasting relationships.

My current circle is solid, but I’m looking to build and expand.

Give more time to my passions.

The blog was HUGE for me, which seems silly, but I’m just scratching the surface.

Do more of what I want to do and rely less on other people.

#FACTS

I have no idea how 2018 is going to go. Most people have that feeling that the new year will be even better than the last. Well, I stay neutral on that. I’m just prayerful that I make it to the end of it, a much better version of myself than how I started. I want to look back on 2018 feeling extremely proud of myself for a change.

I think the fact that you started this blog is FANTASTIC. If you started this and only had one post, I would’ve commented “trash” like once a week lol. But I think what you are doing is great. This year will be a good year. I understand to be neutral and just pray that you continue on and make it to the end, but there is nothing wrong with being positive to say this year could be better than the last. You are already on the right track. You’re doing what you said you always wanted to do, building new friendships (me, “surface friends”), and traveling. I hope you continue to bless us with your open mindsets and thoughts. Look forward to reading your posts throughout the year!
